Shirley Ladd

March 31, 1943 — July 4, 2020

Shirley Jean Ladd, age 77 of Edmonton passed away peacefully Saturday, July 4, 2020 with her family at her side. Born in Corbin, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Edward and Viola Collins Jackson. Shirley was a homemaker and the loving wife of Rev. Daniel Ladd. Shirley was known as a great cook, especially her gravy and biscuits which was a favorite of the entire family. She devoted her life to her family and God. She along with her husband where charter members of the Edmore Full Gospel Church and Heavens Way Worship Center in Michigan. As her health declined her greatest desire and statement was she wanted to go home referring to her heavenly home and spent a lot of time looking for her babies (Family). Known as mom, grandma and granny she is survived not only by her husband but six children. Christine (Anthony) O'Bryan of Michigan. Darlene Johnson of Edmonton, Timothy Ladd of New Mexico, Tom Johnson of Michigan, Terry Johnson of Michigan and Mark Johnson of Minnesota. Her best friend Chris Johnson of Edmonton. Brothers and sisters. Dorthy Gannon, Edward Jackson, Lillian Pauline Pierce, Dillard Jackson and Roy Jackson all of Michigan. Eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and her faithful dog Little Bit. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son Edward Johnson and a brother Johnny Jackson. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Butler Funeral Home with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Randolph. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday and after 9:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Due to the current Covid-19 Crisis funeral services will reserved for close family only.
