Norma Phillips

March 5, 1949 — July 22, 2020

Norma Jean Phillips, 71 of Edmonton, KY passed away July 22, 2020 at home surrounded by family. An Edmonson County native she was the daughter of Rev. Jake and Melba Vincent. She retired from the Dana Corporation and enjoyed gardening, Bluegrass gospel music and collecting folk art. Most of all she enjoyed going to church and serving the Lord. She was a member of Penick's Chapel United Baptist Church. She is survived by her mother Melba Vincent of Brownsville, her husband Gary Phillips of Edmonton, her sons Shawn (Jennifer) Phillips of Jamestown , Bryant (LeAnn) Phillips of Bowling Green, daughter Rachel Phillips (Stofer Smith) of Louisville; Grandchildren Cole (Miranda) Phillips of Brownsville, KY, Bailey Phillips of Lexington, Taylor, Tyler and Tate Phillips of Bowling Green, and Hayden Browning of Jamestown; One Great-Grandchild Jacey Gray Phillips of Brownsville; Three sisters Kathy Spinks of Bowling Green, Melissa (Johnny) Vincent of Smiths Grown, Beverly Murley of Brownsville; Two nephews Dakota Vincent of Smiths Grove, and Derek Spinks of Bowling Green. Sister-in-law Carla Leedy and family. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Special friend Sherry Brown of Edmonton. She was preceded in death by her father Rev. Jake Vincent, brother Randy Vincent, nephew Brandon Murley and two brothers-in-law Billy Murley and H.G. Spinks. Funeral services for Norma Jean will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Penick's Chapel United Baptist Church with burial in the Poplar Springs Cemetery at Lindseyville. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday and after 9:00 AM Saturday at Butler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Norma Jean Phillips. Due to the current Covid-19 Crisis a walk through visitation will be held and funeral services will be reserved for close family only.
