Mary Eldridge

March 28, 1942 — October 24, 2020

Mary Alice Eldridge, 78, of Edmonton passed away peacefully Saturday, October 24, 2020 at her home. She was born in Frankfort, Indiana March 28, 1942 the daughter of Ina Love Keever. Mary grew up in Frankfort and first spotted her future husband Mitchell Winston Eldridge from outside her classroom window. Mitchell who was from the Monroe and Metcalfe County areas of Kentucky had recently moved there and was trimming trees. They met and married. Mitchell preceded her in death in 1998. Mary was an animal lover, many of which she rescued from the shelter. She loved gardening and her flowers. She was a homemaker and loving mother to five children. Betty Winsett of Magnolia, Mitchell Eldridge Jr. (deceased), Jerry Eldridge of Horse Cave, Larry Eldridge (deceased) and Jonathan Eldridge of Columbia. Besides her children she is survived by three sisters. Mildred Weber, Linda Perine and Donna Swaim all of Indiana. Five grandchildren. Melinda and husband Clint Rose who where her caregivers and very close to Mary. Sherry Eldridge Atwell, Rebecca Eldridge, Martha McCoy, Billy Pittman and James Michael Bryant. Her step grandchildren Lorrie Ennis, Larry Blanton Jr., Mark Horton, Michael Horton and Angela Whitlow. Mary is also survived by five great grandchildren. Mary's wishes where to be cremated and that memorial contributions made in her memory should be made to the Metcalfe County Animal Shelter.
