Lourene Martin Hurt, 90 of Glasgow formerly of Edmonton passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 at Glenview Healthcare in Glasgow. Mrs. Hurt was born in Metcalfe County July 11, 1931 to the late Virgil and Annie Pearl Estes Martin. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Donald Lindel Hurt. A son, Donald Richard Hurt. Four sisters and four brothers. Cromer Shive, Clara Shaw, Zelma Jackson, Gladys Spires, Orville Martin, Russell Martin, Ray Martin and Radford Martin. Mrs. Hurt was a member of the Missionary Mound Baptist Church and will be remembered by many as clerk at Murrells Men's Wear in Edmonton for 32 years. She is survived by two children. Karen Matney Harrington (Kenny) of Glasgow. Alan Martin Hurt (Janie) of Bowling Green. Five grandchildren. Tony and Jason Hurt, Kelly Matney, Amanda Hines and Courtlyn Hurt. Nine great grandchildren. Cameron , Dylan, Christian and Bailey Hurt. Jackson and Ryan King, Adam Matney, Harris and Madeline Hines. She is also survived by a daughter in law Cindy Hurt of Glasgow. Funeral Services for Lourene Hurt will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday and after 9:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. The family has requested that during this COVID surge that mask or other facial covering be required during the visitation and funeral service.
