Lee Etta Nunn of Edmonton died on March 28th 2016 at Greenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green. She was born September 19th, 1928 to the late Leona Woodcock Carver and William Carver of Lucas, Kentucky. She was the wife of the late John Barton "Doogan" Nunn. She was also preceded in death by a brother William "Bill" Carver Jr. Mrs. Nunn is survived by three sons; John Nunn of Cincinnati, William Eugene Nunn and wife Karen of Glasgow, Michael Nunn and wife Julie of Bowling Green, grandchildren: Catherine Lawless and husband Patrick of Lexington, Dr. Meagan Peek and husband Shane of Louisville, Stuart Nunn and wife Lindsey of Elizabethtown, Seth Nunn of Glasgow, Shelby Nunn of Bowling Green, Chris Nunn of Glasgow. Two great grandchildren; Wade and Hamilton Edelen both of Lexington. A special friend Ruby Shirley of Edmonton. Mrs. Nunn grew up in Barren County and attended school at Austin Tracy and Liberty Street Middle and High School. Mrs. Nunn was a graduate of Western Kentucky University where she earned her BS, Masters and Rank I degrees in education. She taught and retired from Edmonton Elementary in Metcalfe County. Prior to teaching Mrs. Nunn worked at JC Penny's in Glasgow and was a nursing assistant for Dr. York and Dr. Dunham. Mrs. Nunn was a member of the Edmonton Baptist Church and Metcalfe County Homemakers for several years. She served on the Metcalfe/Barren Co. Ambulance Board, Lifeskills Board and Metcalfe County Public Library Board. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with a private committal service following the funeral service. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday and after 9:00 AM Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Metcalfe County Public Library.
