Judith Lynn Lile Childers, 67, of Edmonton passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, February 6, 2022 surrounded by her family. Judy as she was known was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky, May 28, 1954. Judy was the daughter of Bill and Barbara Reece Lile of Greensburg. Judy was an avid UK fan. She was the #1 fan and cheerleader of the Metcalfe County High School Band and all of the grandsons' activities, baseball, scouts and 4-H. She was a longtime supporter of the Relay for Life, being a great role model and mentor to so many who fought cancer. She was a lifelong member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church. Judy is survived by her husband of 27 years, Kenneth "Ken" Childers of Edmonton. Daughters, Melody (Brian) Baker of Center. Faith Simpson of Edmonton. A son, Darren (Sarah) Childers of Evansville, Indiana. Six grandchildren. Aidan and Isaac Grindle of Center, Atticus and Jackson Simpson of Edmonton, Jake and Joey Childers of Evansville. A brother, Terry Lile of Campbellsville. Sister, Mandy (Mike) Cox of Greensburg. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Judy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wayne and Ida Lile, Sellie and Virginia Reece. A sister in law Pat Lile. Funeral services for Judy Childers will be held 1:00 PM Thursday at Greasy Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton and after 10:00 AM Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Cancer Society or Metcalfe County Band Boosters at any Edmonton State Bank.
