Joseph Colby Smith

Joseph Colby Smith, 29 of Edmonton passed away Tuesday, February 7,2023 at TJ Samson Hospital in Glasgow. Born July 22, 1993 to his parents who survive James Howard Smith and Barbara Compton Smith. Joseph was of the baptist faith and gave his life to God at the age of fourteen. He loved watching sports, movies and playing video games. Joseph mostly enjoyed talking to his mom on the phone at night often until bed time as he has been in and out of nursing homes and hospitals the last several years. Besides his parents Joseph is survived by a host of aunts and uncles. Judy(Coy) Edwards, Mary( Earl) Floyd, Malvinnie (Jerry) Beard, Betty( Arkley) Phelps, Jeannie(Randy) Powell, Brenda(Terry)Rollin, Teresa(Tim) Robertson, Marie Barlow and spouse, Magdline Poynter and special uncle Gerald Poynter who helped raise him, Mary Christine Chism, Annie Logsdon, Clara Compton, Darrell(Sharon)Smith. Several cousins, one special cousin Tisha Poynter who called him little brother, His caretaker Samantha Givens and special friends Diane Ford and Bonnie Holloway. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 10th at the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens in Edmonton.
