John Doy Wesley

John Doy Wesley age 74, of Center Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at his residence. Mr. Wesley was born on Saturday, February 12, 1949, to Albert and Viola (Byrd) Wesley.

Mr. Wesley and his loving wife of 55 years, Marilyn Wesley, were foster parents for 33 years, over that time they fostered 105 children. Mr. Wesley loved camping, fishing, baseball, dogs, his family, and tinkering with antiques, especially iron skillets.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Flossie Long, Winfred Wesley, Charlie Wesley, and Robert Wesley.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Wesley, 6 children; Harold Wesley (Tara) of Wisdom, Susan Lyons (Jeff) of Glasgow, Jessica Wesley of Russell Springs, Lillian Wesley of Bowling Green, Vickie Wesley of Center, Ross Schambon (Amber Young) of Glasgow; 5 siblings; Ernest Wesley of Liberty, Ruby Hutton of Florence, Brenda Pierce of Cincinatti OH, Linda Brown of Liberty, Earl Wesley of Seymour IN; 7 Grandchildren; Madeline Wesley, Brady Wesley, Emma Wesley, Aiden Negal, Rhett Schambon, Ramsey Schambon, and Rylan Hughes.

The funeral service for Mr. Wesley will be conducted on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Butler Funeral Home with the Hon. Jason Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Jeffries cemetery in Savoyard, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. until time for the service at the funeral home.
