James Jolly

James Henry "Jady" Jolly age 92 of Center passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was the son of the late Amos Esque and Anna Laura Henderson Jolly. He was a retired farmer and member of the Seven Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as song leader, Sunday school teacher and treasurer. He was a World War II army veteran serving with the 10th Mountain Division. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. After retirement he became an avid golfer and was a member of the Diamond Caverns Golf Resort. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Seven Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday and after 9:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife Alyne Jolly of Center. Two sons. James Paul and wife Marsha Jolly of Horse Cave. Marty Jolly of Renton, Washington. One daughter Camilla Shive and husband Steve of Edmonton. Seven grandchildren. Chad and wife Mary Shive, Tonya Augustine and husband Brian, Todd Shive and wife Stephanie, Corey Shive and wife Kacey, Daniel Jolly and wife Jessica, Stephanie Jolly and husband Andras Illes, Valerie Jolly and fianc Steve DiGangi. Seven great grandchildren. Collin, Travis, Tristian, Kadyn, Cannon Shive, Kelsey and Nicholas Jolly. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Paul and Richard Jolly. Two sisters Clara Little Trent and Gladys Wood. A grand daughter Laura Nicole Jolly. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Laura Jolly Scholarship Fund at the funeral home.
