Herbert Gilley

Herbert Guy (H.G) Gilley, age 89 of the Wisdom community passed away December 23, 2017 at home. He was the son of the late Herman Guthrie Gilley Sr. and Mattie Faulkner Gilley. He was a retired school administrator. He was a member and deacon of Dripping Springs Baptist Church. H.G. served in the United States Army in Korea. He is survived by 2 sons, Barry (Nora K.) Gilley of Wisdom and Todd (Cheryl) Gilley of LaGrange, 6 grandchildren, Daniel, Amanda, Matthew, Rachel, Jennifer and Jay. 4 great grandchildren, Sarah, Tatum, Zachary and Denton. A special brother-in-law Randall Gray. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his wife of 69 years, Edna Drucilla Gilley. He was also preceded in death by three brothers. Paul, Herman and Wilbur Gilley. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 28, at 1:00pm at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, and on Thursday from 9:00am until time of service.
