Hazel Newton

Hazel N. Newton age 96 of Edmonton passed away Sunday, December 4th 2016 at Metcalfe County Health Care in Edmonton. She was the daughter of the late Cecil and Nevada Cassady Nunn. She was a member of the Edmonton Baptist Church. Hazel was a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College and taught in a one room school in Metcalfe County and employed by ASCS office for many years. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Edmonton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. She is survived by her daughter in law Martha Blevins of Edmonton. Three grandchildren. David Garmon of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. John Forbes Blevins and wife Meg of New Orleans. J.P. Blevins of Wilmington, North Carolina. Four great grandchildren. John Paul, Marlie, Anne Porter and Ben. Besides her parents Hazel was preceded in death by her son John Paul Blevins. Her husband Jim Newton and a brother Paul Nunn.
