Gladys Smith

Gladys Marie Smith age 74 of Edmonton passed away Monday, August 10, 2020 at her home after a brief illness. Gladys was the daughter of the late Elmer and Rosie Eudy Brown. Gladys was of the General Baptist faith and a homemaker. Gladys was an avid quilter which started over 40 years ago. She and her sisters carried on an art that was passed on from their mother. Also everyone who knew her knew she was John Wayne's number one fan. Gladys is survived by two children. Marie (Deandra) Barlow of Edmonton. Michael (Jill) Health of Shawneetown, Illinois. One brother Charlie (Marilyn) Brown of Edmonton. Five grandchildren also survive. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James G. Smith whom she missed dearly and one brother and three sisters. Lewis Brown, Betty Lyons, Ann Settles and Frances Coffey. Funeral services for Gladys Smith will be held 1:00 PM Friday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. A walk through visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday and after 9:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
