Gayle Compton

Ms. Gayle Yvonne Compton, 82, entered into rest on Sunday, December 11, 2016. Ms. Compton enjoyed yardwork, crocheting and cross-stitching, crossword puzzles and traveling. She retired after 32 years from TJ Samson Glasgow Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. Ms. Compton was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Glasgow, Kentucky. Ms. Compton is preceded in death by her son, Tommy Compton; parents, Mr. Amos and Henrietta Kerr; grandson, Roger Allen; and brother, Willard Dean Kerr. Survivors include her children, Marvin Compton (Paula), Michael Compton (Sherri), Barbara Molini (Les Martin), Sheila Ross (Jay Ross) and Penny Sue Black (Jay Lewis);daughter-in-law, Leah Compton; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Friday, December 16, 2016 at Butler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Chapel of Butler Funeral Home with interment following at Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens.
