Don

Donald Ray Holmes, 69 of Edmonton, Kentucky passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, at TJ Samson Community Hospital. Don was born September 25, 1954, in Oak Lawn, Illinois to the late Herbert Ray and Janice Gail Boden Holmes. He was also preceded in death by his grandson Kayleb Holmes and brother Dennis Holmes.

Don worked 30 plus years as a paramedic for the Barren-Metcalfe Ambulance Service. Don always loved going to the movies, walking, working out with weights, and beach trips. Don loved his family and friends and always liked to help others.

Don is survived by his wife of 42 years Julie (Edwards) Holmes whom he married on December 15, 1981, and the two had one child together Kiefer Holmes. He is also survived by his other two children Kyle Holmes and Bethany Holmes; grandchildren Kaden, Kohl and Kolin Holmes; and two brothers David Holmes and Daniel Holmes.

Funeral services for Donald Holmes will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, Kentucky with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home until time of the service.
