Cortis Fields

July 12, 1925 — October 1, 2016

Cortis Elbert Fields age 91 of Edmonton passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at his home. He was the son of the late Lee Thomas and Fannie Compton Fields. He was a World War II Army veteran, member of the Grace Union Baptist Church were he served as deacon. He was also a farmer a retired from Metcalfe County School system maintanence department. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday and after 9:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife Marie Mosby Fields of Edmonton. A son Rick and wife Charlotte Fields of Summer Shade. Two daughters. Gail Chapman and Teresa Kitchens both of Edmonton. A step son Ronnie and wife Pat Mosby of Glasgow. Six grandchildren. Micky, Stevie and Jamie Compton. Jeremy, Scotty and Greg Mosby. A daughter in law Juanita Mosby and a step granddaughter Kim Smith. Nine great grandchildren also survive. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Nina Janes Fields. Four brothers. Dewey, Phillip, James and John Thomas Fields. Two sisters Lizzie Kneller and Rosie Gibson. A step son Paul Mosby,grandson Brandon Mosby and one great grandchild..
