Constance "Connie" Faye Farnum Avery, of Edmonton, Kentucky; passed away peacefully in her home on the evening of Monday, November 12 surrounded by her loving family. Connie was born in 1932 in Bow, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Franklin Simonds Farnum and Emma Shaw Farnum. Connie was a dedicated, life - long volunteer. Serving both in her long time home of Plymouth, Connecticut and in her retirement home of the past 30 years in Edmonton, Kentucky. Connie was a life - long active Church volunteer, having sung in the Church Choirs and served most recently, with the United Methodist Women's organization. Connie was a long - time member of the Metcalfe County Homemakers Association, Wisdom Homemakers club actively serving on the varied service projects conducted in the community with that organization and for many years, served as a friendly visitor with the Kentucky Long - Term - Care Ombudsman program, a role that she derived great enjoyment from. More than any other activity, Connie enjoyed spending quality time with her loved ones, be they family, friends or her pets. She was a true homemaker and cooking balanced, daily meals from scratch and feeding her loved ones was very important to her. Nature and the environment were also a strong passion for Connie that she shared with all who knew her well. She was a voracious reader and was a regular patron of the public library. In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by her brother Franklin Simonds Farnum, Jr. Connie is survived by her husband, Eugene P. Avery, her son Dean and his wife Barbara Avery, her son David Avery, all of Edmonton; her daughter Lynn and her husband Jimmie Lee (J) Blankenship, Jr., of Glasgow; her grandson Daniel, his wife Elizabeth and their three sons Matthew, Isaac and Andrew Avery, of Papillion, Nebraska; her sister Irene Gay of Tolland, Connecticut; her sister Julie Moyer of Cape Coral, Florida; her sister - in - law Shirlie Farnum of Boise, Idaho and many nieces and nephews. In honor of Connie's rich and beautiful life, a memorial service will be held at Edmonton United Methodist Church, located at 118 South Main Street Edmonton, Kentucky, on Sunday, November 25th; immediately after the 11:00 a.m. worship service, with refreshments following thereafter, in the Church Fellowship Hall. All relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
