Christine Jane Love

Christine Jane Love, 87, of Edmonton, KY, went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2024.Christine was born on April 18, 1937, to the late Hymon and Alma Davis Smith in Dubre, KY.  She was also preceded in death by her brother Guy Smith and an infant brother.

She is survived by four children Cindy (Richard) Young of Edmonton, KY, Tony Love of Smiths Grove, KY, Robin Love (Sue Lynn Morton) of Gallatin, TN and Tracy (Tammy) Love of Bowling Green, KY, five grandchildren John Fred (Ashley) Young, Victoria (Ferando) Ramirez, Andrea (Bobby) Hines, Grace Love and Savanna Love, six great grandchildren Scout, Sage and Birdie Young and Evelyn, Oliver and Juliette Ramirez, one brother Nile Smith,  and special daughter in law Syliva Love. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Christine attended school at Ferris Creek. Before settling into family life, Christine was a nurse’s aide at T.J. Sampson Hospital. She later worked at Five and Dime store, Camping World, School Specialty, Eaton and Desa factories. Christine, fondly known as “Ma”, was the matriarch of her family. She was known for her supportive nature and good sense of humor that she lovingly passed on to her children. Throughout her life, she found joy in gardening, tending to her beautiful flowers, and bird watching, creating a sanctuary of natural beauty around her home. Her culinary skills were unmatched, bringing family and friends together over delicious meals for many cherished celebrations of holidays and birthdays. Christine’s home was always filled with warmth and was a favorite gathering place for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special way of relating to the children in that she was a little bit parent, little bit teacher, and a little bit best friend.

Funeral Services for Christine Love will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Creasy Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday and after 8:00 AM Sunday until time of service here at the funeral home.

Christine was a faithful member of the South Edmonton Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to South Edmonton Church of Christ, 616 S. Main St, Edmonton, KY, 42129.
