Betty L. Parker, 68, of rural Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away suddenly Thursday afternoon at home. Betty was a sweet and beautiful soul. She liked to travel with her husband in their motor-home all over the country and would spend winters in Venice Beach, Florida. She liked reading books and having lunch with the ladies from Heathcliff, where she worked part-time. She worked 35 years at R. R. Donnelley, starting in Glasgow, Kentucky and moving to Crawfordsville in the early 90s. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. Born Dec. 13, 1953 in her grandmother's house, between Knob Lick and Chicken Bristle, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Edward Fancher and Maulene Kelly Fancher. She graduated from Hiseville High School. She married Rex Parker on Aug. 9, 2010. He survives. Surviving family includes: husband, Rex Parker; two sons, Kelly Wayne Logsdon, Gary (Liz) Powell; daughter, Kristina (Travis) Dockins; grandson, Christian Oliver; great-grandson, Draven Oliver along with his parents, Lizzie and Caleb Lear; brother, Elton (Vicki) Fancher; sister, Rhonda (Jon) Simpson; two nephews; brother-in-law, Luke Parker and sister-in-law, Kimmy Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandmother who raised her, Ellis Kelly. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 PM Sunday, Sept. 18th at Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, Indiana. Services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, Sept. 20th at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, Kentucky with visitation starting at 10. After the service, she will be laid to rest at the Walker Cemetery in Knob Lick.
