Richard Dale Barrett, 75 of Edmonton Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. Richard was born March 23, 1948, to the late Lonnie James and Fern Lucille Barrett. Richard was the husband of Elizabeth Butts Barrett whom he wed October 17, 1975. He retired from Metcalfe County Board of Education after 30 years of teaching.
Besides is wife he is survived by one sister Kathy Barrett Fergerson of Summer Shade, his brother and sister in laws Glenda Ruth Butts ( Thomas Horner), Mary Helen Devore of Edmonton, Warren Parker Butts of Glasgow, David (Cindy) Butts of Indiana and James Butts of Edmonton, nieces and nephews Jeremy (Beth) Fergerson of Plain Field, IN, Josh (Rachelle) Fergerson of Elizabethtown, Nathan (Maria) Butts, Stephen (Amber) Butts, Clarissa (Raymond) Bryant, Audra (Jacob) Blasdel, John (Mary) Devore and Kyle Robert Butts. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews and many friends.
Funeral services for Richard Barrett will be held 2:00PM, Friday, February 9, 2024 at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with interment in the Missonary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00PM on Thursday and after 8:00 AM on Friday until time of service. Butler Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted to the care of Mr. Barrett.
